Name:Toby Williams
Bio:

IC
NAME: Toby Williams
FANDOM: Labyrinth
AGE: 11
ALIGNMENT (GOOD, EVIL, NEUTRAL): Good. He's still really just a kid, and he has a knack for adventure and trouble, but his heart is usually in the right place.
BRIEF BACKGROUND SUMMARY: Toby was just a baby when he was wished away to the Goblin King's Labyrinth, and though he doesn't remember the time he spent crawling on the upside down, sideways walls of the castle, it did effect him in small ways. As though he was aware of the sacrifice that his sister made for him, Toby grew to love his sister deeply. His sense of adventure seemed enough for two boys, and when he grew older he loved to read books about far away places and magical creatures. His parents said that he had his sister's imagination, but in reality Toby was just the typical rambunctious boy.

Sarah going away to college hit him hard at first, but he kept in close contact with her through phone calls and letters and visits, so it wasn't that hard. Whenever she would visit he would give her a huge hug and be especially nice to her for a few minutes, but within a half hour the usual sibling teasing and playful arguing would resume, and Toby liked it that way.

However, that all changed the day when he discovered that his big sister was missing. He found out about it a good while after his parents did. They put off telling him about his sister's disappearance because the police had no leads to go on and all signs pointed to the discovery of a body being more likely than a happy ending. Finally, when he asked one time too many about when Sarah was going to visit, they had no choice but to tell him that no one had seen Sarah in some time. And it destroyed him.

He locked himself in his room for a day, buried under his covers and trying to forget what they said, and then when he finally came out he refused to talk about it. He wouldn't read the books on losing a sibling that his mother kept setting out, he wouldn't talk to the counselor at school like his teachers suggested...he just refused to acknowledge that there was anything going on at all. The way that he coped with 'losing' his sister was pretending that he had not lost her at all. Each day he pretended that it was only a few weeks until Sarah would come home to visit again, and anytime someone suggested something otherwise he stopped listening.

He did grieve, but only when he was alone in her room. He felt closer to her there, and though he had not cried since that first horrible night when he sat alone under his blankets, he would go there and miss her more than ever. He didn't go there often, because it took a good deal of focus to pretend that nothing was wrong and he wouldn't let anyone suspect how deeply he was hurting over his sister's disappearance, but when he did all the grief he had been storing for days or weeks came out.

That was the case until one day when the mirror in Sarah's room showed something other than his own reflection. An impulsive plan suddenly in his mind, he took action, and in doing so ensured that he would never have to endure another day of avoiding talk of his 'lost' sister.
